Yes, my friends it has been a while....

Well it seems that my good intentions of keeping an up to date blog just never seem to come through. But more & more I look at this part of my life, with all my ranting & raving and see it as an opportunity....to possibly make a book out of all this mess. People on FaceBook tell me it's hilarious all the crap I see at the LIRR or in school, so I figured, why not do more with it than just this little ol' blog that hardly anyone reads?

I am attempting to collect 365 entries so that I can have something for every day of the year...let's hope i can keep at it!

so I have been slacking....here's what you missed!

Dear girl wrapped around the pole on the subway.......I don't know if you're channeling your past life as a stripper or if you're practicing for tonight, but don't wrap your entire body around a pole that others may need to hold onto. (I know maybe you need to rehearse and all, but c'mon I don't see anyone flashing dollar bills your way)

Then there's the guy who's sporting a eco-shirt with the words "Save Our Planet" across his chest, carrying a 'green' reusable tote that states the same on helping save the environment, and he's sitting there SMOKING...Umm last time I checked, cigarette smoke pollutes the air we breathe and I'm pretty sure those cigarette butts on the ground aren't helping Mother Earth out too much buddy......
And then finally, thank you Mr snot blower, hanky using, nasal mist sprayer guy....you let me taste your nasal spray today while waiting to get off the LIRR. There I am minding my own business, waiting to get off at the station, and then here you come moseying on up right next to me (every hear of personal space?) and you sound the fog horn as you blow your nose into a rather well used looking handkerchief.....at least you were covering your face...but THEN you whip out the nasal spray, give a few squirts into the air and then snort it....let me tell you, it doesn't taste very good!! You are yet just another fine example of the slobs I meet that have no respect for others.......

Doing your job...what a concept!

So what's with these LIRR employees? I get on the train this morning ($36 round trip I remind you) and there are three conductors and one engineer aboard the train. I make it through 2 stops, no one checks any tickets, I get through 2 more stops, no ticket checking yet! What the hell? So now it is time to switch trains (8 stops after I got on), as we pull into the station, people start to get up....guess who shows up? One of the conductors who is obviously pissed because he can't get through....hey it's not our problem buddy that you decided to wait until we are all about to get off to attempt to check tickets! He even makes the comment "Oh what are you all afraid you won't get a seat on the next train?" Well actually...YES...with the LIRR shortening trains and with people pushing others out of the way to get seats, you kind of have to be on your toes to get a seat....this guy is an IDIOT!

So now onto the next train......yet again, my ticket was not checked until we were pulling into our final stop, Penn Station. I mean SERIOUSLY, these LIRR employees seem to like to get paid for doing nothing! (isn't THAT wonderful!) And we have all heard in the news numerous times that there are some LIRR employees that are getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in overtime and pensions...wouldn't it be nice for them to WORK?!?!

Now normally I would be like "woo hoo, free ride!" but I purchased my expensive ticket already and had I known that they wouldn't be checking tickets til the last possible minute, I would have purchased a less expensive ticket from another station.

and I am not trashing ALL LIRR employees, because I have come in contact with many conductors who are happy to help and do their job well, its those bad, non-working morons that work there that make the headlines and make it worse for everyone else.

So I walk my dog, and Quincy is usually well behaved on these walks, but he IS a hyper puppy. When other people come by he gets very excited & when other dogs come by he can hardly contain himself. Also, Quincy gets distracted easily, so easily that the urge to relieve himself is overtaken by the urge to play. Even after that dog/person or whatever goes away, he just can't concentrate and all is lost (at least for that particular walk)

So MY question is......why is it that when I'm walking Quincy down the street that people always cross over to our side as they walk towards us? I try to do the opposite to spare people of dog slobber and to spare me the embarrassment of a possible humping dog. I just don't understand it. You don't know me, you don't know my dog, how do you know we're friendly???

it just boggles me.....

A Rant About Work

Since I won't be riding the LIRR for a month or so, I figured I can blog about the annoying people I meet while working at the pharmacy.....

For example, the people who abuse the church's good nature to help people in need....We have an agreement with the local church that they will send patients to us and they will pay for emergency prescriptions for them (for example, an antibiotic for someone who has no health insurance). Over the years, apparently every loser in town (and many from towns far far away) have discovered the church and are using it on a monthly basis to pay for their prescriptions. Month after moth, the same people are coming in...and the best part?? they have INSURANCE, they claim they can't afford the copays....I know PLENTY of UNINSURED people that would LOVE to be paying a copay rather than hundreds of dollars for their meds.

We even had one woman have the church pay for her diet pills!!!!!! Again, she had insurance, but she claimed she didn't think it was fair that they charged her a higher than normal copay, so she got the church to pay for it.....we soon put a stop to THAT!

Now today, we have a woman (again with insurance....GREAT insurance I might add) who had three meds called in.....one was a $60 copay but it was for a 3 month supply of a drug that would normally cost around $500 for someone without coverage...so she goes into her purse, and whips out a PILE of discount cards for various brand name medications (these cards are usually given out by doctors to patients that either don't have prescription coverage or their plan doesn't cover the specific drug) and she finds one for her meds. That brought the copay down to $45...still she wasn't happy....long story short 6 prescriptions, 3 discount cards and two phone calls later, she only wanted TWO of her meds....because the church would pay for $50, and those two added to around $44...... (on a side note, in order for her to have this great prescription coverage, she or her husband have to be working at a pretty decent job....so why are they abusing the church?)

THEN she has the nerve to ask me to ring her up for a few items and she hands me a church issued gift card from the store. For whatever reason, it wasn't swiping properly in the machine, so she digs in her purse only to come out with FIVE MORE gift cards!!!!!!

We have elderly patients who have no coverage (or crappy coverage) that are choosing to either pay for 5 days worth of heart pills or buy food, and they will not ask the church for help...but as usual the squeaky wheel gets the oil, so if you don't bitch & complain, you won't get help.....its just so sad

And I wonder.....do the church goers who donated money know where their donations are going to? Do they know that they are paying for able bodied, working people (with insurance) to get their meds for FREE??? AND to get free gift cards on top of THAT?!?!?!!?!!?!?

I honestly do not donate to the church for those very reasons. I like helping those in need, but repeated abuse of it makes me angry. When Mike & I do donate, we give to the food pantry.....I refuse to give cash.

Restart of my blogging....

I have been making random comments on Facebook for a while now and each time I do, people tell me I should blog about it, which I did do a few years back when I started THIS blog.....it didn't get much attention so I abandoned it for a while, but now I'm back!!!!!

Still commuting to John Jay College in NYC, BUT my commute is now two hours each way (Mike & I moved out to Remsenburg.....don't ask, its a small town out east that NO ONE has heard of!) So longer commute equals more pains in the ass on the LIRR!!!

Hope you enjoy this, pass it along and maybe you can spread the laughter.....
Dear Sayville Ferry riders that take the LIRR....

Do you need FIVE pieces of luggage when going away for the weekend? And if you do need them, please don't leave them in the aisle it's a hazard as well as a pain in the ass for fellow LIRR riders.

Another thing...if you can't decide where to park your ass & pile of baggage, don't  stand there...you are a solid object & no one else can sit down until you move!

And NO we don't have time for you to have a cigarette....

Books? Who needs BOOKS?!?!?!?!?!?!? I Do!!!

So there I was headed to my local library to get some books on a research paper I was doing. I stroll on in and head to the computers to look up my topic and find books that I can use. A simple topic really....alcoholism and smoking and the effects on your health.

I do the first search on alcoholism....on the first page of about 10 results, I came across about 8 that were Internet sites. EIGHT out of ten? So I proceeded to take down call numbers for the few books I was able to find...on to the next topic of smoking.....basically the SAME result, I actually couldn't find ONE book on smoking..they were all Internet sites!

OK
so maybe I am old-fashioned, and the crazy idea of finding BOOKS in a library is just unfathomable in this day and age. As I went on my quest with my short list of call numbers, I looked around to see A LOT less books in the entire library...I did see more computers and more DVDs to rent, but less aisles of books. I guess with all these people using their Kindles to read books and such instead of actually picking up such a book made of paper and cardboard, there is no need for books in the libraries anymore. It's sad, I LOVE books, and I NEED to be able to touch the book and turn pages, not click on a screen or keypad, I just can't!

besides the book issue at the library, I came across a common trend of leaving kids in the library as a babysitter. Little kids running around obnoxiously screaming, yelling, stamping up and down stairs...no parents to watch over. And if there WAS a parent around, you got the usual "oh stop it now....." as the kid throws a fit in the middle of the place. I mean I think it MORE quiet outside in the parking lot than it was in the actual library itself! Ridiculous.

I also came across the slobs of the town...you know the ones that have NO CLUE how to return a book to the shelf (or at least to the rack so the librarian can return it to the proper place) I went to have a seat to look through my THREE books, and I wasn't sure if people were sitting at places and just left their books there for a moment or if they actually DID leave and just figured someone else could clean up after them. I finally found an empty table, I did some reading, took some notes. Out of the blue a guy gets up out of his seat and slams like 5 big books down on the floor making a very loud bang. When numerous people turned in his direction his reply was "sorrrrrrrry" as if WE were wrong to expect people to NOT throw books on the floor! ugh!!!

Ugh! it stinks in here!

Why oh why must I have to come back to this topic??? I hate to repeat myself, but I will.....

Do you have to BATHE in a vat of cologne before you leave your house everyday? REALLY? Is it neccessary to give all those around serious headaches and sneezing attacks? I am actually CHOKING on your cologne as I type. I unfortunately have no where else to go in this library, all other computers are in use...if I could I would have moved at the first sign of that tickle in my throat, and the irritation in my eyes, not to mention the pain that is slowly but surely building in my head.....THANKS buddy!

and the best part of it all, is that every time I think that the odor has reached its limit and I may be able to breathe a little easier, you move your arm or get up to print something and a new wave of stink bombards me....

bad enough if it was a somewhat decent cologne, overpowering as it may be, it wouldn't be as horrible as this stench! What the hELL is that? Eau de Foulness???
Please STOP!!!

CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH!!!

So there I was, sitting in my History class, taking an exam. My professor likes to give us essay exams, so you can imagine the work you have to put into each test (there is one EVERY week!). As I am reading over the questions, the girl in front of me (now let me remind you that we are in EXTREMELY close quarters in this particular classroom, its very annoying to be so cramped together!) Back to the girl in front of me...she proceeds to take out a bag of chips, crumples the bag to get it open and then eats. Potato chips are NOT quiet snacks...they are LOUD! So there she is crunch Crunch CRUNCH as we are all trying to take a test. Then she sucks on her bottle of hawaiian punch like it was her last drink forever. THIS was extremely annoying!!

Now, to make matters worse....her buddy next to her, finishes his test, then takes out THREE bags of chips and assorted snacks. He then starts to smash the bag of chips on his desk, making plenty of noise, and after he has pulverized the ships, he then stuffs them down his gullet! He does that with the second bag as well.

what the hell is wrong with people? no consideration for ANYONE?!?!!?!?!!??

and now for something completely different....

I had a few rants in mind while I was at school and on the train today, but then I got a message from my husband, and my troubles seemed to melt away.

See, Mike isn't one to be all lovey dovey all the time (I am...I think Isay I love you so much, he may be sick of hearing it!) So on those few occasions that he comes up and does something sweet and completely out of the blue, my heart just melts!

Today was one of those days, a simple text message to tell me he loves me and that I have a hug awaiting my arrival at home....that was all I needed to bring a smile to my face and to realise how lucky I am to have Mike as my husband.

We may not have the finest house, or fancy cars or loads of money to toss around, but we have each other (and Quincy of course!) and I can say that I am completely happy!

As I told Mike when I got home today (to get my hug!) "I love getting hugs from you, it's the best way to end the day!"

How Obscene!

Ok, so I'm on a very overcrowded subway train making my rush hour trip home from school to Penn Station and eventually home. People keep cramming in, the doors can't possibly close with arms and legs and heads sticking out...its CRAZY! Well there I am pinned up against a guy, and suddenly I notice something poking me in the ass. I try to move out of this object's way, but it stays with me like superglue. I realise that it is the umbrella of the woman behind me. I turn and look at her, she is OBLIVIOUS that her umbrella is attempting to give me a colonoscopy. I move again, hoping the movement of my body with her umbrella would make her notice where she is shoving it. I mean REALLY!?!?!?!?? You're in a crowded place and you stick your umbrella straight out in front of you?? c'mon now!

Fortunately I only had one more stop to stand there....but before I unplugged my crack......I farted on her umbrella! Yes I did!! Wonder if she noticed???

******

Since we are on the topic of umbrellas, I have another comment to make. I may have mentioned it in earlier blogs, or just in rants among friends, but why the hell do people carry around such GIGANTIC umbrellas? I mean, when you're walking down the sidewalk heading to work or whatnot, is there a need to use an umbrella that can fit 5 of your friends and still none of you get wet? Bad enough if you're strolling along in a park, or a big open space, but we're in NYC people!! Not a lot of room as it is when you're trying to maneuver your way down the street, let alone having to avoid humongous umbrellas in your eyes.

I think they should make a law, similar to the HOV lanes on the Long Island Expressway. The HOV lanes require that you have at least 2 people (including driver) in the car. Well how about a limit on umbrellas as well? You want to carry that gargantuan bumbershoot with you? Then you must have at least 3 people accompany you under there...come to think of it, its a lot like car pooling....you take turns holding the umbrella, or you use your own each week or whatever....

a wasted trip...as usual

Well well well...a new year is here and the same shit is happening.

I have been emailing my college for a while now (since my commute is a 3 hour round trip, I don't have time to just drop in and talk to people) I got a loan for my tuition and books and I wanted to know I can get the money to purchase my books for this semester. I was told through email that such information cannot be divulged via email or phone and that I had to come in and see a financial aid advisor in person.

So, I take a day off from work, I travel on the train to school and I wait on line at the financial aid office. I was asked if I had a referral from the one stop desk. WHAT?!?!?!? I have to stand on a line that wraps around the corridors of the main lobby for them to say "You need to see someone at the FA office" and then they give me a little piece of paper ALLOWING me to go to the FA office? How the hell does THAT make any sense?????

I explain that I had been emailed from the FA office and I was told to come in and speak to an advisor. They let me stay on line.

Next stop is the 'reception area' where one student at a time is allowed to walk up to the desk, sign in and state their issue. The lady at the desk then tells you what FA person you have to see. You are then buzzed in at the FA office and allowed to wait there for eternity until someone calls your name....it makes me remember the old days at the DMV, only you don't have a number, just your name.

I figure out who the woman is that I have to see, and I wait as other people are called, and other advisers come by and take people in. Then suddenly I see MY advisor and 2 others getting their coats on to go to lunch. Now I understand everyone gets a lunch break, no biggie, but when you have a hoard of students waiting to see you, you don't ALL go at once, leaving ONE person behind...WTF!?!?!!?!!?!

The girl next to me was pissed. I was waiting about an hour at this point and she had been there way before I was. She got up and expressed her concern to the receptionist who then referred her to a new adviser. That same adviser then took me into her office.....so why couldn't I have seen her? Have TWO advisers working on the same subject..wouldn't that have made the line go down faster?

But anyway.....after looking at my file, she tells me that I can get a book voucher now, but I can't use it until Friday. WHAT? I tell her that I guess I will just go in on Monday during the first day of class. She was against that and told me that it would be much too busy on Monday and that I should go on Friday. And I explain to her "Well seeing that I missed a day of work to come here today, I don't think I should miss yet another day of work, I'll just deal with the crowds on Monday"
After she reviewed it all she then stated "Ok, so just bring in your validated bursars receipt and your school ID to the book store and you can get your books"
No official paperwork or anything, just her telling me to go to the bookstore....

Now I was too excited to get out of the office and I failed to realise this while I was sitting in front of her...

They couldn't tell me ANY of this information over the phone or by email due to privacy issues, yet I spoke to FOUR different people and not one of them asked for ID!?!?!?:!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!!?!?!?!! And if I was able to speak to someone without having to come in, then maybe I would have been able to go get my books on Friday!

I just keep telling myself..."only 2 more years, only 2 more years"

WHY?

Maybe I'm the only one here who finds this disgusting but why do girl (women, ladies females etc) go into the bathroom with an OPEN container of their drink?? I see it all the time, cups of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, open cans of soda...has anyone heard of GERMS??? You know FECAL MATTER?? ugh!

Bad enough if it was a closed bottle, but no, they have the lids off and such, bring them into the stall with them! (EWWWWW!!!!) and then put them on the sink counter as they do their hair (PRIOR to washing their hands after using the toilet!)

it's just NASTY!

Something 'new'

Well this isn't a blog about my commute or the stupidity I see at school everyday, but it IS something I have to vent about...bars!

I went out last week with some friends to a bar. Now I hardly go out to bars anymore, but after what I experienced I understand why I stay away.

The place was PACKED, at least 3-4 people deep to get to the bar. We find a little corner to stand in and have a look around. It was weird, every face you looked at was either 21 or 65, there was no in between..what the hell is THAT about? And carrying a conversation with your friends was near impossible, due to the karaoke going on and the other people trying to talk over the karaoke. I really would like a place where I can sit down, have a few drinks and actually TALK to my friends. (why can't it be like on 'How I Met Your Mother'??)

After a while I ventured forth towards the bar to get a drink. I said my excuse me's and such but it didn't work, I had to lean in and talk into their ears and yet people would still just stand there. I had a few people move that incredible inch to let me through. I mean are you complimenting me by actually thinking I can make it through that tiny crevice of a space you left me or are you just being stupid (I believe it's the latter choice)

When I got back to the 'corner' I tried to have a conversation again, and as I talked with my friend, I was pushed multiple times, pushed? no it is more like SHOVED. I literally bumped into my friend a couple of times after people made their way through. No 'excuse me', not even the light little push, that makes you move aside, no they were plowing through like linebackers (oh my husband would be so proud..I used a football term!)

We moved around the bar to go watch some karaoke. Don't get me wrong I like a little karaoke-ing now and then, I have even gone up a few times myself, but this was ridiculous. I guess watching 20-somethings, way beyond drunk, scream their asses off to terrible songs just isn't my cup of tea.

Maybe I AM just too old for this shit...but what about those old timers I saw??

*** an additional note ***

At school last night, I was forced to use a pay phone (as many of you may know, I have had some cell phone issues, so I don't have one at the moment). Not a big deal.

I go to the hallway and put my 75 cents in to make a call home. Well as I am listening to the phone ring, I am practically knocked over by some girl and her huge bag. I was forced against the wall! (Good thing I was standing to the side of the pay phone or else my teeth would have a new grill on them saying VERIZON) I turned and looked at her and she just stared at me like "What?" Now being in this school an being a minority (white girl from LI) I do not want to start shit with anyone, so I just let it go. But THEN she walks up next to me and gets on the other pay phone and as she's searching for change, she is screaming down the hallway to other people.

At this point, I can no longer hear my mother on the phone, and I tell er that if she can hear me, I'll call her back later because I can't hear her due to the noise.

Now people come on!! Why are there so many rude assholes around??

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Oh yeah and another thing

Why the HELL do I ALWAYS get stuck with the person sitting next to me that refuses to get up when we are pulling into the station. Now maybe you have a bad sense of balance or whatever, OK understandable, but you don't even get ready to get up until the train has STOPPED.

For example the girl next to me last night, was reading a script or whatever and she had 3 large bags with her, on her, next to her. The announcement is made that we are pulling into the final station and that you should gather up your belongings etc etc
Well she ignores the announcement and continues to read, OK, no biggie.

We pull into the station, we are slowing to a stop, she starts to put away her papers and such, THEN she whips out the cell phone and starts to text message back and forth. Still sitting there, mostly everyone else has already walked to the end of the train car or are in various stages of getting coats on and grabbing bags. I squeeze myself into my jacket, because I can't stand up and I can't reach out my arms to actually put it on like a human being. I start to stand up (I have to lean on the seat in front of me because I have to duck below the luggage racks overhead)

At this point the train has stopped, the doors have opened, time to get off! She looks up at me and says "oh sorry" and starts fumbling with her bags. She then stands in the aisle (still blocking my exit from the seat) and tells me to go ahead. First of all you haven't moved far enough for me to squeeze by and secondly, you are now blocking a line of passengers that want to get off the train as well I tell her "Let them go by first". She moves into the seat behind me, and lets the other people go by.

I start my move out of the seat and now she COMES BACK and is trying to get all of her shit together. I was mere seconds away from exploding. Needless to say we were the LAST people off the train (with the exception of those who work on the LIRR)

ACK!

A Thursday Kind of Rant

Here's a rant for today....

How can it be that people are so frigging oblivious to their actions, that they don't see what they're doing to other people who have to share the same space with them on the way to work, school, etc on the train?

- why douse yourself in cologne and trigger my migraines? or make the lady in front of me start having a sneezing attack (which is gross in itself, and sets off a chain reaction of grossness). A little spritz or dab is fine, why smell like you fell in the vat at the perfume factory? Do you really think you smell that good? or are you trying to cover up a nasty smell (in that case, I kind of want to thank you, I'd rather keel over from cologne fumes than die of unknown body odors) PLEASE, ease up!

- oh and the lady who clipped her nails throughout the train ride...yeah I heard the 'clip' 'clip' 'clip' and I saw you let the fingernail scraps fall to the floor and on the seat next to you. How disgusting can you be?? Beyond the nastiness, I want to know what the hell; you had to clip for an hour and a half, I mean I THINK you only had ten fingers, but maybe you're special and have a few extras.

- oh yeah, guy in front of me that couldn't get comfortable....I know the train seats aren't the cushiest of seats to be stuck in for the long train trip, but your constant shifting and roughly sitting down etc kept banging your seat against my knees...your uncomfortableness made ME uncomfortable as well....thanks

and now I am at school....in the library computer lab...and I have a few fellow students around me,

- the kid that keeps sniffling....we have like 100 bathroom around here (4 in the library itself) go get a fucking tissue 'sniff' 'sniff' 'sniff' its repulsive to hear your snot get pushed further up your nose.

- the EXTREMELY loud typer, calm down guy, its just a keyboard, and we're in the lab where we can't do work processing, so those IM's can't be THAT dire that you have to slam on the keys...that's why my technology fees keep going up

I think that's it for now............we'll see

ummm excuse me but what the HELL?!?!?!?

as you may very well know I travel by train everyday to get to and from school. Well, with all of the economy going in the shitter, the LIRR and MTA (trains, buses and subways) have decided that they have to increase fares. Ok Ok, I understand they need money, but so the fuck do I!!! If they raise the prices more and more people won't be able to afford to commute to work (the lucky people that still have their jobs) It's ridiculous.

NOW within less than a week there have been two major incidents on the LIRR. Lasy week, 2 trains 'bumped' inot each other as they were both trying to get on the same track. Luckily they were both just leaving the station, so they were moving relatively slow, but it is apparent that no one paid any attention. The one train hit the other one a few cars inot it, so how the HELL did they not SEE that they were getting pretty damn close to the other train, They were travelling slow enough that they could have stopped. Reports state that both engineers of the trains ignored their stop signals (so you just ignore these things that are IMPORTANT in preventing accidents?!?!?)

and as of today (which is a Tuesday) the LIRR is STILL working on a derailed train from SUNDAY!! Yeah three days of crappy commuting chaos! Trains cancelled in both directions, commuters forced to use buses to get to and from work. Not to mention the fact that the MTA stated on their website that if the delays cause an overflow of commuters in Penn Station, they will have to shut it down! Scary facts, luckily they didnt and the delays were reduced by today, but they are still working on it....

Why do I bitch about this? Because how can I honestly say "Sure I'll pay more" When these fucks can't keep the damn trains on the tracks!?!?!?!?

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

on a side note....

Today while I made my way into Manhattan, I encountered 2 women and their children. they had among them about 6 young boys (I would say the ages ranged from 5 to 12 or so) and I have to say after seeing all the crap I see on the trains, they were a pleasant change for me....

they didn't yell and scream

they stayed in their seats

they weren't obnoxious

and the mothers ACTUALLY kept the kids under control and PAID ATTENTION!!

I am so sick of some woman (or man, or couple even) hopping on a train and they have ONE kid with them...bouncing on the seats, running up and down the aisles, screaming, crying and having temper tantrums...its ridiculous! The parents also like to do nothing about it either...let them run amok, they don't seem to care! And now I come across this group and the kids are all so well behaved! (and I'm not saying it like they were silent and all, they chatted with one another, and they were much more quieter than some of the adults on board when they talk!)

Kudos to good parents who teach their children the proper way to behave!

I cannot believe this has actually happened!

How can I be so damned lucky to encounter possibly the WORST person to have to share a train car with during my commute?!?!?!?!? The woman I am mentioning had the following 'qualities' that made me want to kick her teeth in:

- chattering away LOUDLY on her cellphone

- during this conversation she also has her IPod turned up to the volume limit (can't you shut it off even to gab on the frigging phone?)

- not bad enough I have to listen to her crappy choice of music, but then I get to 'enjoy' her singing along

- after her phone calls were apparently done, she started texting. How do I know? because she had the chimes on so that each keystroke made a wonderful sound as she typed and then when she got a new text the song blasted some crappy song. You are STARING at the phone the whole time, do you NEED it to be ringing so loud? Put it on silent or at least vibrate! I don't appreciates blasts of music every few second for a 90 minute trip!

- she must have sat in a vat of perfume for a few hours prior to getting on the train. It may have smelled nice in moderation, but the stink that eminted off of her could NOT be considered a lovely perfume. Those few ounces of liquid that come in those perfume bottles are not one time usages....

- and THEN she was clicking her gum...click click, snap snap...chew chew...WTF!!?!?!?!?

WHY? WHY?????
